What does the Bible say?
Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.
Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.
2 Timothy 2:15
“You’ve observed how godless rulers throw their weight around,” [Jesus] said, “and when people get a little power how quickly it goes to their heads. It’s not going to be that way with you. Whoever wants to be great must become a servant. Whoever wants to be first among you must be your slave. That is what the Son of Man has done: He came to serve, not to be served—and then to give away his life in exchange for many who are held hostage.”
(I encourage you to write your answers down.)
Do you have godly role models in your life? People who inspire you and encourage you to please God?
What makes an excellent leader according to 2 Timothy 2:15 and Mark 10:42-45?
- I’m challenging you to find Christ-like role models. It’s also important to be reminded that nobody’s perfect. We all make mistakes, but trying to glorify God in all we do is a great trait.
- I’m challenging you to be a great example, to inspire others as your heroes encourage you. Keep in mind 1 Timothy 4:8, “Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.”
By following up on these challenges, we can live godly lives. Romans 12:2 says,”Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
